The Brown Elephant was a character from Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures.
Mario and Luigi first encounter him when they are on their way to Seaside Valley to save Peach, it appeared that Mama Luigi could speak his odd language as he asked him where Seaside Valley was he than points out the way and goes back to chew on a dead creature.
He is seen again in Episode 4 when Mama Luigi goes to get Mario a Mushroom. He passes by him and on Mama Luigi's way back to Seaside Valley, he gives him the mushroom forgetting to give it to Mario, shortly afterward Bowser walks by and notices him with the mushroom, Bowser then proceeds to grab the Elephant and beat him against the wall.

- He is similar to Mr. Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street.
