"The Cat In The Hat" is the 212th episode of SML Movies.

Synopsis[]

The Cat In The Hat shows up to Junior's Apartment!

Plot[]

The video opens where we see Bowser recording an episode of Charleyyy and Friends. Junior arrives and asks Bowser to see his fart piano. Bowser says no because he is going to watch Charleyyy and Friends, and he is going to record today's special episode. Junior then asks if Bowser could get him a milkshake. Bowser reluctantly agrees but threatens to punish Junior if he causes any trouble around the house. While Junior is playing, someone arrives at the door. Junior answers the door and the person visiting is none other than the Cat in The Hat. The cat offers to come inside, and Junior invites him inside for a Sprite. Junior starts asking the cat why he is here, and the cat says that he wants to help Junior have fun. The cat was also talking in rhymes.

They start having fun by making a sandwich, but the cat spills flour all over the counter, causing Junior to yell at him. Then, the cat throws a cake up the wall with a rake. Junior tells the cat that he is making messes and that he will get in trouble. The cat then juggles with some plates by tossing them up and having them hit the floor, breaking them. Then the cat plays tennis while knocking over a lamp and hitting the TV, causing it to freeze. The cat then "fixes the TV" by banging on the TV screen with a hammer.

Junior calls Joseph and Cody over for help. Cody suggests that since the cat only talks in rhymes, he tells him to say something that doesn't rhyme. Junior tells the cat to say "orange" and since the cat can't figure out anything that rhymes with orange, his head explodes of frustration. Cody says to Junior that he could've said "door hinge", since that kind of rhymes. Junior now doesn't know what to do, fearing that Bowser will punish him big time for what happened earlier. Cody then asks Junior when he is going to military school.

Characters[]

Trivia[]

  • This is the first time a TV was broken in the video.
  • This video was uploaded on the same day that Harambe was shot.
  • Bowser waits for Charleyyy and Friends to come on in the living room instead of his bedroom in this episode. It is possible that the TV in his bedroom didn’t work.
  • This is the Cat in the Hat's first physical appearance. His second physical appearance would be in the remake.
  • When Cody and Joseph arrive, the same line is used from “Bowser Junior's Candy Bar!”.
  • This is the first video to parody a book.
  • This is the first time the Cat has appeared physically, as opposed to appearing on a book.
  • Irony: Bowser Jr. should’ve called the cops on The Cat when he answered the door.
  • In total, the Cat In The Hat hits the TV 96 times.
  • Cody asking when Junior is going to Military school is a reference to how comments after “Cody's Revenge!” were asking when will Junior go to Military school.
  • This episode was uploaded one year after "Mario's Beautiful Date!".

Errors[]

  • The Cat in the Hat insists that he always speaks in rhymes. However, he tries to make "ass" and "cash" rhyme, but they actually do not rhyme.
    • This is the same case for when he attempts to make "guess" and "rest" rhyme as well as "tennis" and "fitness". The lattermost is even called out by Junior.
  • If one was to look closely when the Cat in the Hat freezes the TV, there is a pause symbol seen on the bottom left corner of the TV. This has been corrected in the remake.
  • When The Cat in The Hat says serve, he does not say anything that rhymes with it. This was fixed in the remake.
  • This episode is listed as an SML Movie, but it should be an SML Short since it is less than 8 minutes long. This was fixed in the remake by making the video longer.
  • Technically there is a word that rhymes with orange, which is called: sporange, a single-celled or many-celled structure in which spores are produced, especially in fungi, algae, mosses, and ferns.
